Pros

At the time of interview they will not disclose that "you will work for x client at y location with payroll of TCS" like other organizations do with fear that candidate will not join them. They lie about this at interview. No pros for lateral people who joins TCS with 3 years of experience or later. At the time of interview or joining they will show how big TCS is and they have n numbers of clients and projects but reality is completely different my friends.

Cons

1. You're hired for a particular project and not TCS and you cannot leave this project until you leave TCS. 2. Projects are mostly support at indian client location. 3. They will not tell you for which project you are being hired. 4. If you resist that you do not wish to work at that project then nobody will bother to help you.they will Either force you to work there or leave. 5. They will put you to client location to work without any TCS benefits(no transport, no canteen, neither access to client benefits) . 6. Less salary hike not even 30% if you're coming from good MNC and joined TCS. 7. You are just a project hire not TCS employee. 8.No work life balance at client location. 9. Indian client projects are Always on cost cutting side so don't even expect hike. 10. If you have real development work experience then do not join TCS because you will never get chance to improve here.

TCS EIS- A myth

Pros

Relaxed working hours. Best Work Life balance in IT industry. If interested in higher studies or any other technology, you have ample time to prepare and make a switch in your career. Very good company if you have been in industry for more than 5 years.

Cons

A lot to say. The company is not for freshers despite the fact that it is the highest recruiter from engineering colleges in India. 90 % projects are support projects. Support projects are hell especially for a person who has spent 4 years studying engineering. It is not at all a place to stay for more than 2 years. The environment makes people sluggish and reluctant to do any work. The head count is very huge. Gaining recognition will take a long time. The biggest issue is that it recruits graduates in campus drive claiming that they will be offered jobs in core related projects and the branch of TCS is called 'Engineering and Industrial Services'. It shows a dream that it is an elite sector and only 9000 out of 3 lakh employees are a part of it. In TCS, none of them holds true. People in EIS are being tagged to support projects and literally there is no difference between an IT guy and EIS guy. SO if you are joining this company just because you have got a job in TCS EIS, go for it only if you do not have a better choice.

Pros

HR policies, leaves, work life balance....trainings provided are good....you can learn a lot if you are a self learner.

Cons

Managers here have more than 20 years of experience... Basically you can say old people...old mindset....and old management. They do not focus on inventions and new ideas.....if they are doing wrong you are not suppose to raise your voice....if you do...you will be tortured in many ways.....all the managers have created a nexus together.... Even if you are not okay with manager's approach do not discuss it with any team member as any of them can be a tipper of that manager. HRs are in full control of managers...they will do only what managers want....appraisals are done on the basis of your relationship with manager....your work or performance doesn't matter at all....I repeat....doesn't matter at all....do not join unless you have 4-5 years of experience.... I do recommend fresher's to join this company as they will get at least a brand name on their resume which will help a lot.
