Great place to work

Pros

I worked at Teradata in Prague. They trained everyone to a good standard. This job required me to go work for months on end in clients' offices around Europe, which is great if you love travelling and working in different places.

Cons

If you do not like travelling or moving every few months, this would be a con. As this job was based in Prague, I was paid a Czech salary, which wasn't great.

A company that won't change

Pros

Great work/life balance with the flexibility to work from home when necessary. One quarterly paid volunteer day is a cool perk. They also have a nice retirement and donation matching program. Work environment is casual.

Cons

Employees feel like upper management isn't listening to them. A majority of employees are NCR lifers and are more interested in keeping the lights on till retirement than moving the company forward. Cost-cutting is the most important thing to the company right now, and more work is being piled on fewer people, causing great people to move on.

Love this place

Pros

Brilliant knowledge base and willingness to transform. Lots of opportunity if you are willing to go after it. Very motivated to go after younger engineers. Family oriented and very flexible with hours and needs outside of work. The Company upper management is passionate and great.

Cons

Hitting hard times and having to change. The knowledge base of really technically strong senior people is often less flexible and resists that change. Opportunity internally is scarce due to difficult financial position. Not tier one compensation, but they make up for it with work flexibility. Upper management is great. CEO seems dispassionate.
