Pros

Teradata is like a family. The work environment isn't overly stressful, with focus being on the employees, and the customers not just for the company. Few developer positions have folks working more than 40 hours a week, though people are willing to dive in during crunch times and work weekends if required.

Cons

When times have been good, that hasn't necessarily been passed down to the workers. When it has, it's been in the form of yearly bonuses, rather than salary increases. When times are bad, they're willing to cut bonuses and salary increases despite having a loyal workforce. "Having a job is the new salary increase," was a phrase often said.

Awful management practices

Pros

Working with a few loyal, intellgent clients that haven't left yet.

Cons

Promotion and salary increase promises that were consistently not met. A serious lack in managerial input raising the skill set of teams. Most managers didn't have a clue about the product sets. Having to constantly cover Teradata's **** when clients can spot issues a mile off.
