      Good company, increasingly tough industry

      Pros

      Compensation, job satisfaction, cutting edge technology. Its a great place to learn new industries and network with IT personnel at major Fortune 1000 companies. The Teradata community of customers and employees is a very tight knit group, which is usually a good thing.

      Cons

      Too much travel, too many meetings, not enough organized reusable intellectual property to be sold and implemented. Mid level management is usually very strong, depending on the industry. The work force is quite senior, but efforts are being made to bring in younger team members and grow the organization from the bottom up.

      Pros

      Virtual office provides flexibility. Few layers of between employees and leadership..which is a double-edged sword. Compensation is pretty good, although not necessarily aligned with value or productivity.

      Cons

      The culture and leadership of the company remains "old NCR" and focused on short-term profitability...while the company needs strategic direction and growth. Poor internal management development. Poor understanding / support for new salespeople to close deals in a "green field." The company hires people with industry experience...and then doesn't listen to them. Many leave frustrated.

      Pros

      get exposure and hands on experience on one of the best Data warehousing methodologies and tools. One can join GCC to get a good start in his career but then after that I see people love to swap to other options because of salary and benifits.

      Cons

      benifits and salary may not be as good as your other class fellows doing similar job. employee retention is something GCC is not really worried about and this will have an effect in coming months
