Boring, very very little room for growth, micromanaged to the extreme
Pros
- If you are in an easy project, it can feel like you are being adequately compensated - Great health benefits - 40 hours/week- hourly. Not expected to work after you clock out.
Cons
- You are there to annotate, and annotate only. Very few employees are able to expand responsibilities. Promotions are somewhat political. - Every aspect of your annotating is tracked, and if you don't meet any one of those metrics one week, there is a short performance improvement plan before you are let go (if you fail to meet metrics several consecutive weeks). - Office culture can be pretty toxic- Annotators generally don't like working there, or the people they work under. Managers are stretched thin and offer little support. - Subjective judgements impact annotators' stats.
