Pros

Laid back, easy, doesn't require much thought. Most people that work at Home Depot are good people to work with. Environment can be entertaining.

Cons

Since projects have moved to night resets, merchandising in the days is extremely boring if you don't work at a remote store. Staring a sheets of mindless numbers daily that are often so small their impossible to read become the most boring, soul sucking thing in this waking life. You ability to advance will almost none, and don't ever expect more than a 20 cent raise every year. (The actual cap is 40 cents but that's a pipe dream) Home Depot is about keeping the stock prices up. That's it, that's all.

Pros

Eventually you get to a place where they know what they can expect from you and you know what to expect from them. That is why I give it two stars and am doing this review.

Cons

You had better have a strong constitution. You had better have a minimum of five thousand dollars saved up when you start this job. It will take 4 to 6 months before you start realizing any monies that will sustain you and your families. It seems like you will have a minimum of 8 to 11 bosses that are trying to stop your jobs from moving forward. You may turn one job in today that moves forward without a hitch and try to do it the same way the next week and it falls apart. For the most part your left to your own devices trying to figure things out. The turnover is incredible it's ridiculous it is inordinately excessive. The final negative, as if that's not enough, this endeavor seems to be hurting the Home Depot brand.

Pros

The culture and team spirit.

Cons

As an outside sales rep they take advantage. Expected to cover a lrge territory often driving over an hour and a half with no gas compensation. Expected to generate own leads in the stores while providing basic customer service while wearing their apron (uniform) on own time with no compensation. Excpected to attend district and regional meetings and provide product training to store management and staff, with no compensation. 100% commision job based off one thing the final sale. Training is sub par focused on scripts and basic product knowledge. There is a small focus on teaching reps proper measure techniques to sale team. After sale is made a well trained measure technician follows the sale adjusts the poorly trained sales reps measurements then adjusts the pay scale making the salesman pay customer rates for mis measures essentially taking often large chunks of the sales commision back. In short they are taking advantages of the outside sales rep. Poor training, money adjustment with no transparency or recourse. Im deeply disappointed and quite frankly appalled they would treat employees like that and have people spend their own moneyand time training staff driving to appoinments providing customer service wearing their orange apron representing the brand and not paying. Shame on home depot.
