New hire with 15 years experience. My complaints about a bullying coworker (cursing, debasing comments about my work and insults directed at me) fell on deaf ears. I reported several incidents to management and to HR and not once did I sign any paperwork to substantiate my claims and the bully was never reprimanced. Maybe it was the bully's veteran status that made his actions excusable in the company's eyes. Gossip spread fast and I was shunned. Every time I asked for guidance or assistance, I was told to "figure it out." As a non-spanish speaker, the manager and/or leads would talk to the team in Spanish and when I asked what was going on I was told it was "none of my concern." The exclusion and isolation I felt from fellow coworkers and managers took a toll on my job performance and my mental health. I would sit in my car before work and take deep breaths to calm my anxiety. I have never wept because of a job before Home Depot. I finally left after 2 months and I feel a lot better.
