-Small family-like environment -shipping pre-packed packages is fun and easy -Pretty versatile job for a “retail store” -Became a notary public here

Cons

-Amazon returns. 80% of the customers are Amazon return-ees and these are not fun or pleasant. Most people don’t read instructions on how to package their Amazon returns and get really mad at you, the associate, if you inform them they need to have a box, label printed etc -Customers just seriously get mad all the time here. I’m not sure why, maybe because they felt like coming to the UPS store was a chore in the first place anyway? Constant complaints about the high cost of shipping, boxes, minimum print fee, whatever, it could be anything but it’s a consistent daily thing -No PTO or benefits

Pros

The work was steady, and we thrived in the first year of Covid.

Cons

Owner showed lots of mercy for the young folk, who missed about a day a week, often without warning, and the one time I made a mistake, after taking the company past $750,000 in sales in one year, he showed no grace. No missed days, announced half-days 4-6 months in advance, always showed up early, always stayed late, and boom, got the guillotine.

Great manager, flexible with hours, easy to ask for time off, easy daily tasks and very enjoyable environment.

Cons

Doesn't pay much, have to work some Saturday's with no lunch break, can be very busy and customers can be very annoying.
