Pros

The owner is great. It is a laid back environment. Hours can be flexible. Store closes at 7pm on week days, 4pm on Saturday, 2pm on Sunday, so it's great for someone with a family

Cons

Customers in this area of NJ have a sense of entitlement and can be very difficult to deal with as they look down their noses at low-paid employment positions. Holiday seasons can be very busy and demanding.

I ran the store myself without any managers near by. Pay was not bad. I enjoyed the Interaction with customers.

Cons

During holiday's owner would not hire more help and at times there would only be one helping customers while the other boxed. Pure chaos

The owner started me at what I asked for. Fairly easy job to do.

Cons

Small shop with half of the employees being related. They would call out frequently and leave the non-related employees with covering the store when they were EXTREMELY busy. The owner would not pull you aside and speak to you privately about what was done wrong or needed improvement. Instead, you were yelled out in front of other employees and even customers. Was told at training that when you hit the declared value button, leave it at $199 instead of changing it to the standard $100 even if the customer did not want a higher declared value. No benefits what so ever. No paid time off, vacation time, holiday pay or health insurance.
