Pros

Training not bad. Staff discount, that's about it.

Cons

Spoken to like children. I couldnt believe some of the sales assistant had put up with it for so long. I guess it depends on the store you work but the assistant manager was some sort of power hungry backstabbing type. Always telling you to "go stand there", "what are you doing talking its not a convention" after 3 hours of the store being empty, still not allowed to talk to your colleagues... It was just unbelievable. One day they'd tell me I have targets to reach and then I'd do well and they'd ask me to stand back because so and so was behind on their targets so could I give them my sales! Absolutely baffling. Lunch breaks were painful too, you never knew when it would be and sometimes was sent to lunch just 2 hours before leaving. I am ever so glad I left.

Pros

Worked with amazing people at Thomas Sabo, we became a group of best friends. A lovely atmosphere and environment to work in surrounded by amazing products which made selling them come easily. Employee benefits e.g. commission structure + product discount are brilliant. Regular training days to teach new selling techniques and help meet targets. The targets and KPIs set were realistic and achievable.

Cons

Only con for me was heavy working hours around Xmas but this will be the same in most retail roles. Only opportunity for progression is to move down to London and work from Head Office. Store teams are small and opportunity to move up in to management roles are unlikely.
