Pros

The hiring process is fast and easy. Filled out the application, scheduled an interview, then stared the following day. The driver I'm assigned to is a lot of fun and the time flies by. The pay is also well above what I expected. Honestly I'll be sad to see it end!

Cons

You have to be willing to work in all weather conditions. Only a seasonal position.

Pros

Your supposed to get paid every Thursday but the checks are usually late.

Cons

If you get stationed at a shopping mall for the holiday season so you will be dropping off carts of heavy 50 lb boxes in the storage rooms of the big dept. stores. and stacking them until your arms feel like they are about to fall off. You will be sore all over your body after a 4 hour shift then a week later you will find out that you got docked a few hours because of clerical or driver error logging in your shift. My first check was 2 weeks late then I got docked 2 hours on my 2nd check. They charge $22 per month for union dues even for temporary employees. The drivers are mean and aggressive and will embarrass you in public to hurry up despite doing your best nothing is ever good enough. You will always get told off about something. They also have no patience and will walk over people that get in the way of their path of delivery.

Pros

Trained on the spot.they are very organized and care about their workers very much. They are very thorough on their training and focus a lot on you (the worker) s safety first and foremost. Even as a seasonal helper with no benefits I can honestly say they are a great company to work for.I look forward to my future in the company as a full time driver. The seasonal helper is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door if you are considering a full time position at ups and would highly recommend being a helper to anyone who is thinking about a full time position.

Cons

None that I can see. It is strenuous physically but if you are Conditemed properly it is no problem.
