Pros

UPS has college tuition reimbursement, amazing unions benefits, and they promotion 98% from within the company. If you have a great attitude and work ethic, you can go very far.

Cons

UPS hired the majority of part time package handler positions. These positions are often loading/ unloading semis. It is an incredibly fast paced and physical position with heat, cold, sweat, and dirt.

Good pay and benefits to start, above industry standard.

Cons

Long term pay and promotions not very good. Long hours and little positive recognition. Below industry standard wages, use of restricted stock options (RSUs) to keep someone from quitting as they are lost.

Good company to work for, they are definitely leaders a what they do

Cons

A lot of changes in the past few years, the company just changed salary structure and most likely will continue to change, the retirement plan sounds good but it will change for sure, opportunities are always there but there is always the idea that you have to work around 12 hours a day to get to the next level. The IE department is increasingly downsizing and that is not good, that equals more work for you. the company is operational driven with that being said there are a lot of poor educated individuals running the business (no saying they are not competent on what they do) at the end of the day education is not prized as it should be.
