Pros

At the senior levels you are working with some of the truly best and brightest member of our society. You are constantly challenged to perform in increasingly competent and more efficient ways. You are generally given the resource and tools to succeed.

Cons

Frequently you're required to work long hours and leave your family for extended periods of time. With the economy in what appears to be a downward spiral, benefits seem to be on the chopping block, it will be less and less an attractive. That may be the demise of what is truly a magnificent organization.

Pros

The G.I bill benefits as well as full health/life insurance coverage. Your completely taken care of as far as food and housing goes and you have guaranteed money in your pocket to spend on whatever you want.

Cons

Salary pay is a double edged sword. You may work 12 hour shifts for a month and weekends for the same pay as somebody that works at a desk for 7 or 8 hours a day. Low ranking Airman are not treated very well, you have to develope a thick skin. Once you are in you can't get out honorably until your time is up. So make sure you know its what you want before you join, because you can't quit.

Great benefits such as pension all health benefits.Highly respected. Great people working with you. Work has significant impact in mission capability. Forces you to stay in good physical condition.

Cons

-You may end up in a careerfield that deploys constantly to hostile areas. -Exercises eat up weekends and free time and are strenuous.
