The Air Force is a great way to serve your country and learn a trade at the same time. You will have the opportunity to develop in a professional environment, learn leadership skills and travel all over the world. The educational and healthcare benefits are world-class, too!

Cons

The Air Force may not be for you if you're unable to learn to be a follower first, as well as espousing a set of personal values (the AF Core Values) that you're committing to support. You also must be willing to put the needs of the mission (what the AF wants you to do) first, if necessary.

Pros

The responsibilities progress as you display potential. You can make rank fast if you do all the right things. Travel across the globe to do your job. The pay combined with benefits is incredibly high for civilian counterpart.

Cons

Very strict regulations which can be career ending. If you have problems with authority, don't bother as you will have a difficult time. Deployments will occur at the worst possible time in your life so if you can't suck it up, don't bother.
