Service - provides opportunity to serve as well as receive training for many applicable jobs in the Civilian sector. Better chow halls than other services. Better quality of life than other services.

Cons

Promotes self-serving box-checkers versus true leaders with integrity, service before self, and excellence (USAF core values).

Pros

Ability to move to various locations, learn about different topics, if you have a military supervisor chances are he/she will move-on w/n 3 years (could be good or bad), benefits are ok and you may start at a higher salary than private industry.

Cons

Small chance for salary increase or opportunities for advancement, requirement to deploy to war zones, work is boring and leadership expects too much from 1-person office(s) and have failed to adapt to non-stop staff cuts/reductions. Govt work is unstable and susceptible to the effects of constant budget cuts, govt shut-downs and is filled with inefficient old school retired military/govt employees. The govt no longer is a place for the best and brightest and is technologically archaic. .

Pros

The AF will take care of you as long as you can keep your nose clean. Stay out of trouble, follow the rules, do extra things outside of your job, and be extremely flexible and adaptable and you will go far.

Cons

The AF is very dynamic, meaning it is constantly changing by the day. Be willing to keep up or you will flounder.
