Pros

Be part of something bigger than anything you've done before in your life. Take pride in being part of an organization which first and foremost exists to stand up for our freedoms. Work with great people, travel the world, incredible training throughout your career, and unbeatable retirement benefits.

Cons

As the military downsizes, we find ourselves unable to do less despite less resources with which to do our long-standing jobs. This can make for long hours and a sense of always being behind. Stress on the family can also be high when deployments are needed.

Healthcare, housing, and education benefits are outstanding. You have the opportunity to work with many people from many different ways of life, as opposed to a job you might find locally. Steady promotion rates and job security. You get a raise each year.

Cons

The Air Force, as with any military branch, goes by the "shut up and color" motto. The values and opinions of individuals aren't valued as much as they should be. Long hours are something that you should expect here and there. Miss out on events with family and friends.

Pros

A job unlike anything else. You will get to do some really cool things, travel around many different places, and meet outstanding people - all while protecting our country.

Cons

Politics are destroying the military. The government has an amazing amount of bloat and everything takes way longer than it should, accompanied with piles of paperwork that will load you down. Efficiency is pathetic. Also, while the AF plays it off like they take care of their people, that is only in life and death situations. During day to day operations, the AF takes pleasure in making your life difficult.
