Pros

Serve your country and defend the constitution of the United States

Cons

Times have changed. The Army just like every other organization will have to go through a transition period at some point. The DOD is having to cut good people and this causes some dis-settlement amongst the ranks. I would really do market research to be sure this is where you want to spend a significant amount of your life. If it is not your passion; don't join.

There are times one may be separated from family but it is a self sacrifice to defend the Nation of the United States of America.

Pros

US Army is a great organization and allow soldiers to earn great experience in all aspect of operations such as leadership, technical skill set, communication, and security cooperation.

Cons

High demand and fast pace operation at time can be taxing but military provide generous 30 days leave per year.
