Not bad, but not for everyone.

Pros

Good benefits. Awesome experiences. Great friendships made.

Cons

The Army has it's own subculture, that isn't for everyone. And if it's not for you, people can tell and you'll be an outcast.

Probably not the best idea

Pros

The GI Bill and Life Insurance are very good for someone just entering the workforce. Certain jobs can open up possibilities after separating.

Cons

Finance is very difficult to work with when trying to receive back pay so you could very likely work several months without pay. You're also pretty much guaranteed some sort of hearing loss and chronic pain.
