Pros

The job is not monotonous. You work as needed. You get reimbursed for your travel costs. You travel to different schools and can have an impact on the life of a teenager.

Cons

The job does not provide steady income. Requires some early morning travel. You have to carry heavy cases sometimes up stairs and for long distances.

Pros

Steady pay and promotions. Competitive salary and one of the best health care plans available. Thirty days leave per year and ability to carryover up to sixty days. Great pension for doing 20 years.

Cons

Relocations about every 3 years and sometimes more often. As an officer you are always on call and may need to come in after hours for incidents.
