Pros

Great pay & benefits, leadership and management opportunities, and unparelleled work experience upon graduation from a 4 year college.

Cons

Time working compared to salary. Lack of sleep and high stress levels. Cramped work environment. Consistently working on weekends and holidays.

Pros

Great and unusual opportunities, plus getting to serve one's country. Excellent pay and benefits. Amazing patients.

Cons

A system choked by over-burdened bureaucracy and budget cuts. Difficulty obtaining supplies required for patient care. Impossible hiring process can take a year or more for civilian staff. Active duty therapists are strongly encouraged to move into management and they will not promote unless they do so. Excellent and dedicated patient care is not valued or rewarded by management.
