Pros

Lots of autonomy given to country offices in the UN system, excellent opportunity to work with government toward impact at scale.

Cons

Highly political. Often the appearance of delivering results (i.e. spending down the budget) is more important than the results themselves.

Pros

Challenging job and opportunity to do a lot.

Cons

Actions resulted from a politically correct decision don't usually solve problem. Most people are benefit oriented (what is it for me) rather work or solution oriented.
