Pros

As above. Things can get pretty good if you get to work with great people.

Cons

If you're posted to positions under dictators, things can get pretty rough.

Pros

meet some amazing people from around the world; excitement of working in a multi cultural environment; real exposure to global events and impact while at the same time trying to do something about it

Cons

there is a culture of fear that trickles down from upper management - especially in the department of public information - management looks out for themselves only and cooperation is lacking; it appears that upper management holds onto permanent jobs at all costs - very machiavellian attitude
