It offers great job security for people who actually show their worth. It is the UN after all so there is always a sense of purpose - that you are helping towards a better world. There are many talented people working there. If you are looking to fulfill your social responsibility duties, this is the place to be.

Cons

There is so much nonsensical bureaucracy. As a general service staff, it will be nearly impossible to move towards professional level. The frustration can be real and the burn out even worse. The dinosaurs in the organization will make you want to bash your head towards the wall at all time.
