Chance to work on something that changes the world of computing. Very family oriented - we just had a Halloween Party where tons of kids came out and had a great time. Great campus. Building a new gym facility. Give us 10 days of sick leave *in addition* to vacation is fantastic. $250 matching on FSA. 401k matching. Smart people who also want to change the world.

Cons

We have a big bull's eye on our back with MSFT and a lot of other players gunning after us.

Good Name. Good technology. Lots of smart engineers

Cons

Lots of arrogance; people are still walking around enjoying the smell of their own flatulence. They have yet to understand that they aren't the only player in the game and that the competition is catching up. The IPO was a bust and if they don't begin to understand that they need to do something quick, they won't be around for much longer.

Pros

Possibly a valuable technology for the future of this country- Green Data Centers. A Technical leader in virtualization, with many partner companies. The employee benefits are good.

Cons

career paths limited, salaries seldom vary from "hired in" amount. Stay out of GSS, the technical support department gets little respect, and less pay. Now going head-to-head with Microsoft, and this affects both stock value, and the amount of money the company is willing to spend on employees. Corporate leadership is 100% controlled by EMC, as they own 99% of the voting stock, until that changes, expect no "flashes of genius" in strategy.
