      Pros

      - Good pay and excellent benefits - Free snacks and good quality food at cafeteria - Opportunities for career advancement - many senior people leaving.

      Cons

      This was once a company with great culture of innovation and cutting-edge technology. It has degenerated into a sad state, where mediocrity rules. New products are being developed based on old, obsolete technologies (hello Flash and ExtJS). Most of the talented engineers have already left. Some senior (and I mean "senior") engineers are still there - unable and unwilling to adopt evolving technology landscape.

      Pros

      Pay, bonuses, raises. Physical environment.

      Cons

      Toxic culture. Backstabbing. Managers who haven't a clue how to manage. No leadership at the middle management level. They just gossip about each other and their employees. Too much power in a few hands. Over past 3 years it's gotten worse, the emperor is wearing no clothes but no one had a guts to stand up to the one or two "bullies" who call the shots and are driving products into the ditch.

      Pros

      VMware still is the market leader for virtualization - but that's about it.

      Cons

      - worst call centre experience ever, after a startup mood and empowering in the past things have changed towards metrics only. Visions and ideas are suppressed and not followed upon you report into a black hole and get no feedback unless you ping a VP or senior director directly. - wording to be used dictated, no freedom of speech, no adoption to customer needs, improvement suggestions land in a back hole. - the Vision and spirit in this company is gone - workers are currently approaching unions about conditions - It still pays of get intimate with leaders, in order to progress in ones career
