Typically, your direct manager will be supportive and good to work with.

Cons

Everything above your direct manager is a standard corporate experience with plenty of talk but little backing it up as far as supporting the employees. That said, VMware is probably still one of the better large tech companies to work for, but it used to be a lot better and the future looks pretty bleak.
