Pros

work-life balance, you pick your pace and pretty open; talking to your VP is as easy as talking to your teammate about daily issues. Matured code base, pretty decent testing and QA frameworks. Good place to work in, overall.

Cons

lots of internal organizational changes, too political at times takes a while to "level up" salary-wise compared to working outside

Pros

VMware is a company that actually supports and encourages its employees to be innovative. Upper management actually listens to the R&D staff.

Cons

The biggest con is how difficult it is to move up in the ranks beyond SR MTS. The company is also an adolescent company and has its share of growing pains
