Pros

Walgreens has an awesome training program and a true open-door policy. They hold high expectations for their management teams, but they provide more than enough avenues and training to help the employee to succed. MGTs and higher make good wages.

Cons

For management, the time you want off is not easily acheived unless a very major issue has emerged. For standard employees, however, it's pretty easy to adjust your schedule. Each store is on a budget, so overtime has become almost non-existent for hourly employees.

Pros

Great Benefits - Health Care, Profit Sharing, Discounts, etc. They have great store systems put into to place so that we can be on the cutting edge in our fields. They are striving to be more than just a pharmacy, but also a medical institution for people to rely on.

Cons

Long hours to meet the needs of the business. Promotions aren't explained as to why a particular person received them over someone who may have been in the position longer. They continue to take away budgeted hours in the stores so that those in salary positions continue to put more and more hours in to make up the difference. There are fewer and fewer stores being opened so that there are less opportunities for advancement in the company.

Pros

Even in tough economic times, Walgreens continues to create jobs and promote. The offer room to grow, and mentoring from management is available as well.

Cons

All warehouse positions are same rate of pay. This allows people to work in other areas with out having to adjust pay.
