Pros

My location it's about family first, if your not happy at home your work suffers. Walgreens becomes part of your family, but your have to watch those family members and make sure they don't abuse the situation.

Cons

Taking away benefits from long term employees, cutting hours due to the economy and not being fair about it. Hours to benefit ratio, I wish 20 hours would be max hours for benefits.

Pros

Family Environment - such a small environment means your employees are much more than subordinates. Endless opportunities - just work hard and you'll go far. Flexible schedules (even for an assistant manager!) Paid holidays Generous vacation time, sick pay They're everywhere - need to move? Take the job with you! Great benefits

Cons

You'll NEVER make it if you're lazy. Customers can be dreadful. High turnover for clerks means half your time is spent hiring and training people that are just going to quit in a month anyway. Small environment can be very tense if you don't get along with a co-worker, it's not like you can avoid someone.

Pros

If you dont mind working weekends, non traditional hours, and MUST work on Holidays, then Walgreens is a good place to start. They hire MGT(assistant Managers) right out of college, with little to no experience needed, First month or so, you will be setting in front of computer screens learning the ins and out of the retail business. As with corporate America you do have the opportunity to advance, but you must put in the hard work. Depending on which store you locate in (fast paced vs slow paced store) The job dutties could vary. they offer great benefits. is what you expect of a fortune 500 company, with profit sharing (first 2% is matched after 1 year, 10 vacation days(after 1 year) sick days, and special days

Cons

IF you work in a fast paced store, it could become stressful, anything from dealing with customer complaints, too many notes from the manager, or even robbery. Seniority seems to play a big roll in the company you sometime feel you have to wait your turn before you get promoted to EXA (executive store manager) where you are placed on salary and get percentage of the bonus You do have to work Holidays, and because of the recession they have eliminated overtime, As MGT we are not allowed to go over 40 hrs
