Pros

I've read some of the other reviews for our company Walgreens. For those that think of it as a job, it'll never be what you want it to be. For those of you that think of it as a career, then this is one of the best places to work (qualifying statement - within the retail sector). You get what what you put into it (like anything else in life). If you work hard, if you work smart, if you're a people person, if you have attention to detail, dynamic thinking, if you're proactive, even-tempered, but outgoing, and if you challenge others, give them expectations, and hold them accountable to those expectations by following up, you will be rewarded 9 times out of 10. For those of you in the situation that happens one out of 10 times, there's some kind of disconnect between what you think you're value is and what your boss thinks it is. Figure out a way to get around that.

Cons

Now saying what I've just said, I've been to three separate interviews for the same corporate position in different parts of the state in which I live, and all three times I've seen the position go to an unknown minority female. Some people think that Walgreens goes out of their way to promote minorities and women, and a lot have think they've been jobbed when a situation like this happens to them. All I have to say to that is while I was upset at the time, even though I was extremely qualified, I know now that I didn't have the perfect resume to get past this supposed hurdle. You have to be the best you can possibly be going in, but comfortable within your own skin if it doesn't work out. But never satisfied.

Pros

Compensation, employee discount, learning and knowledge about products and services. Locations have been close to where I live. Good life experiences.

Cons

Use to be a great place to work...since working for bad store managers have really killed my morale about this job.
