Pros

The wages and benefits were fairly good, as retail positions go. Depending on the individual store and district, the management team is typically decent, and relatively competent. The company USED to offer excellent opportunities for advancement, and in some markets these opportunities remain.

Cons

Over the last couple of years, Walgreens has succumbed to the notion that the only way to improve profitability and performance is to cut staff hours, drastically in some cases. As a consequence of the company's explosive growth over the past two decades, many systems are overstretched and overworked. Also, the company has really lacked a clear vision under Jeff Rein and Greg Wasson.
