Don't Join The Retail Side

Pros

The retail division relies on the pharmacy side to keep it afloat. The revenue is large so losing millions every month is meaningless. However, this is the next Sears as the company had a winning formula years ago, but has not done anything to evolve.

Cons

No innovation. Goal misses are always blamed on external factors. No idea what they are to a customer. Management are bullies with some exceptions. Continuous turnover due to unhappy employees.

Pros

Standard retail work, where you have great co-workers and there are jobs that are a lot worse than this. It pays the bills and is safe, but it is still the low end of pharmacist jobs to take on.

Cons

They capped our pay. They cut the hours of our technicians. Turnover rate of technicians is high. They cut benefits of the front and pharmacy. The work morale is declining and it's depressing to see so many long-time Walgreens workers hating their jobs as they see all the different changes. Overworked, understaffed, and underpaid. It doesn't matter if you are right and the customers are wrong if they put in a complaint the higher-ups will bend over backward for them while ignoring their own employees. We request new equipment or just working equipment and are constantly given excuses. We request for more hours and more technicians and they try to see if maybe we are doing something wrong with our workflow and decide to see if we can change that instead of addressing the major issue of us not having enough help and the increasing amount of responsibilities and metrics they wish us to achieve.
