Pros

Good pay, good match on 401k , decent benefits

Cons

Lack of pharmacy staff, work by myself quite a bit, 12 hour days, no breaks ever, required to a list of different vaccinations flu, shingle pneumonia, check blood pressures, give cholesterol tests, MTM computer entries all while cutting tech hours. quickly reaching burn out stage. No Staff in pharmacy continuously cutting pharmacy tech hours. Pharmacy is not a 1 man sport. Dusting off my resume.

Pros

None now. The recession & walgreens buying other companies (which means walgreens is paying for the debts those companies had) really destroyed walgreens. its all modern-day slavery.

Cons

I worked for the company for 3 years, I was about to be promoted to assistant manager. Went through the two-interview process with two different community leaders. Went well. All that was left was to wait until a position opened up in a store for an assistant manager. Never happened because corporate put a hiring freeze on the entire district. On top of that, they were doing away with the assistant manager position entirely (which paid $18/hr) & created new ranks so that you would have the same amount of responsibility for $11-12/hr. At this point, there was no opportunity for growth/promotion for me or any employees.

Pros

Minimal room for advance, if you really want you can start as a cashier and move your way into the pharmacy itself. Easy to transfer stores if need be.

Cons

Un-Realistic work ideals. Don't let Management use you to do their job, I was just a photo tech answering management type calls and duties then was asked why i wasn't getting my job done. NO training time, they expect you to learn everything on your own. Then they don't allocate time for you to do web based training and learn new procedures but they expect you to get it done when they don't give you a break from your normal job duties. I don't like the fact that we're supposed to help people live healthy life styles but our suggestive sales are always candy and products that are bad for peoples health.
