Pros

If you need a quick part-time job and you are up for any position Wal-Mart is great. Depending on the store, you can move up if you plan to stay. There are also a lot of benefits from working in a super market such as discounts.

Cons

Do not expect to work in a single position pretty much ever, you do what is need to be done. Granted, somethings require a lot of specialization, but for everything else you probably WILL do it once. I applied for Software Sales Associate and that was where I spent the least of my time.

Pros

Benefits are pretty good Hour lunch is a plus for a full shift

Cons

Management will treat u like crap if they don't like u. Get called in office for retared billshit like smelling bad if u don't like some one odor dont smell . Also accused u taking 2 hour lunch when they have no proof to back it up . If u have medical problems they don't care about your well being at least this Wal-Mart. I think they train the managers how to be ugly to people. Also one of the managers will stare at u are not doing anything when there nothing to do. They also make u ran rampant by yourself in department when u got medical condition.

Pros

Customer service. Helping people get their needs and wants accomplished. Keeping the equipment working and maintained. Helping out in other departments as needed, especially in electronics.

Cons

Constant shifts in shifts. Never knowing at least 3 weeks in advance as to when I am scheduled. The worst however is never knowing where a particular item that a customer is looking for is today. They constantly get moved. A customer will ask me "do you have ...." I will say yes but turns out it was not in the same place it was yesterday. It makes me look foolish. It even happened to me last week in the water isle. couldn't find the flavoured water that I was looking for because it had been moved. Way too much time is spent on mod changes for no good reason. We are supposed to help our customers find the items that they want but if we can't even find them ourselves.....
