Pros

Opportunity to work on products with massive scale and reach A few solid peers and pockets of talented teams doing their best. The brand name still holds weight on a resume.

Cons

Leadership lacks depth. A lot of senior folks come off as inexperienced or overly political, came from a company (IYKYK) & ruined the Walmart culture. Decision-making feels top-heavy and disconnected from day-to-day realities. Trying too hard to mimic the culture without really understanding what made it work. Instead of ownership and clarity, you get chaos and micromanagement. Poor alignment and context switching. Priorities change constantly, and there’s no real communication to explain why. Focus on optics, not outcomes. There’s a lot of noise around visibility and "narratives" - but little actual progress. Low trust culture. Psychological safety is basically non-existent. It’s hard to have honest conversations without fear of it being held against you.

Pros

Free food and cab is only positive

Cons

Huge firing even for exceptional performance and you can get fired anytime any day after you join. It has become like a service based company and benefits have reduced a lot from past 2 years. only single digit hike or no hike from past 2 years. Worst higher managers and they dont know what exactly they are doing. Overall its better not to join and be in fear of losing your job. Walmart is not the same company it was before.
