Pros

Hmmm-very few pros. A place to work until you can find something better. NW Arkansas is semi pretty.

Cons

1) The David Glass Technology center is massive with 2 bathrooms on each floor which always stinks. Each Bathroom is so large because there are so few of them, they constantly are full of defecating employees. Exiting the bathroom is a breath of fresh air. 2) Low pay 3) 40 year old technology. Straight "C" a dn COBOL.. 4) The stupid Walmart Cheers at every meeting. 5) Politics and back biting. 6) Poor management. 7) They don't care about changing. Walmart is so big they don't have to. 8) You will quickly lose your programming skills as most work is just very small bug fixes on existing software in the "C" language.

Too many layers of management, disorganized, lacks integrity, poor leadership. Too many distractions, Lack follow through. Traditional hierarchy - NOT AGILE. Lack work life balance.

Not great work/life balance - All major holidays in the end of the year are blocked off (due to the nature of the business), so it is difficult to take time off during normal holiday season. However, once holidays end, it is difficult to take time off due to a rush of new work before next holiday season. Rinse and repeat. Culture of us vs. them between departments/organizations. No incentive/reward to collaborate, since it is easier to say work is blocked because of someone else. Work seems to fluctuate between (rare) periods of stagnation when nothing happens and more typical periods of crisis with not much in-between. When crisis is the more typical state, it makes you think why...
