Pros

Love the upward mobility in Walmart, if you work hard and come to work you'll move up quickly. Schedule is flexible if you need it, and there are many areas that you can work in that fit you.

Cons

Management is not consistent, each store manager is given a great deal of autonomy in his/her store. Stores often divert from SOP which can lead to one department being understaffed and others being overstaffed.

Pros

The experience is what you make of it. The actual job is kinda crap, you're just a generic merchant/buyer. But if you're driven you can use it as an opportunity to develop skillsets and pivot into product, eng, marketing, etc. This position is meant for turnover. Expect to last 1-2 years.

Cons

Chances are you went to a good school and had no idea what to do after graduation. This is a place where you figure out that it's definitely not retail.

Pros

The benefits provided are good - free lunch, cab/shuttles, internet and phone reimbursements, gym/fitness reimbursements. An always stuffed pantry. Work life balance is good.

Cons

Quality of work greatly depends on the team and the market for which you are working. Pay growth is not competitive for someone working here for >2 years. Work becomes repetitive after some time.
