Pros

Training was thorough. You will know what you're doing before you hit the floor by yourself for the first time. More freedom and flexibility than most jobs. Management is helpful and they help you out.

Cons

The people you stop are obviously not the most friendly or safe people to be around. The job can be a little bit stressful when you have a shoplifter in your office while you're filling out paperwork.

Pros

Walmart is a huge company, so there are certainly people within that make mistakes. However, I genuinely believe that the leadership of the company is extremely invested in doing the right thing - whether it's sustainability, corporate responsibility, women and diversity empowerment, ethical sourcing, or just helping out our neighbors in our communities. I love that, even in a massive company, it feels like family, and I truly feel empowered to make a difference on a global scale. I don't know if I could ever find a company with the same commitment to values and culture.

Cons

Walmart is no frills. We try to keep costs low so we can pass the savings on to the customer, so that means working on a tight budget. I think the values and the community - feeling good about what the company's doing beyond just your own role - far outweighs being flashy.
