Pros

They are always needing help. Walmart will be around for a long time, you have job security. They are usually a stopping place for many im their job search. Walmart helps pay the bills when you need a job. I always tell my associates that as long as you leave right (ie...Two weeks notice) you will always be welcomed back. Many associates I have lost to better paying jobs have come back to work for me when the other one didn't last.

Cons

The hours are the worst. We are told the our schedule is 48 hours but we end up working 60plus. The store managers only work around 40 hours. As an assistant you will be required to work on your day off if your areas are not up to the store managers standards. Our schedule is already a twelve hour shift (8-8)and ninety percent of the time we do not leave until after 10.

Pros

The company probably won't be downsizing any time soon so i don't feel like I have to worry about losing my job any time soon. I like the people I work with and I promoted fast enough that I have seen a 110% increase in my pay over the last year. Overall I am very satisfied with the company and I think this is a great place to work if you are willing to work hard.

Cons

One thing I do not like is the turnover. There are a lot of people who come and go in retail. It can be frustrating at times.

Pros

I enjoyed working in the fast paced atmosphere of walmart. It continually gave me opportunities to excell and prove my work ethic. It also provided good pay and opportunity for professional growth to someone without a college education. The benefits were o.k. for the job. My overall experience was a good one.

Cons

It has ong hours during the holidays when you would like to be home with your family. There is also a lot of political bull crap that you have to deal with. It is hard for you to maintain a hard working environment without getting lazy people to call human resources on you.
