Pros

If you are under 25 years of age you have great opportunities for advancement and cross training in other departments. Sometimes you do not have to post for new job opportunities, the managers will pick you if you are a favorite. Everyone is very nice in the beginning.

Cons

If you are middle aged it is very hard to advance. Some managers and supervisors are very short spoken and rude. Some are young and do not have the experience on how to supervise or talk to people. I have seen maybe a few middle aged people advance compared to twenty young people get new positons. I have a lot of experience in accounting and data entry, I felt like I was held back. I was not going to be a cashier forever so I left the company for a better job opportunity.

Cons

Advancement of some employees can be political (it seems that sometimes 'favorites' move up quicker) which can feel somewhat discouraging

Pros

The benefits for part time employees is great. You can get health insurance even if your part time. Twice a year i get a pay raise. sundays and call ins you get a dollar extra an hour. The employees are extremely nice. If i have a issue or i dont know about product they would help me in a heartbeat. They are great with my availability for my class schedule. I can request how many hours a week i want or around it. I started to work the deli and a month later i am getting crossed trained in the kosher deli. Management is always there to help if there is a line they stop what they are doing and help us.

Cons

They start to make the schedule a couple of weeks in advance and i have to request time off at least 3 weeks in advance. most places are 2 weeks. My availability is open to close every day of the week and i always get stuck staying late. They trained me so fast that they missed some things such as how to open.
