Pros

Wegmans is a solid place to work. They are fairly flexible with hours depending on your position within the store. For one of the best grocery stores, if you're into customer service and grocery stores, this is the place to work.

Cons

It can take some time to get promotions. A lot of people want to work for the company and you have to perform to move your way up. Expect to work a lot of holidays, the store is open 24 hours so depending on the job you can work overnight.

If you go to a bigger store it is a great place to work. Great benefits Generally friendly, happy people Employee events

Cons

Always understaffed. middle and upper management spreads gossip, Our equipment is all secondhand and breaks continually, Employees are lost in this department with little direction. Things are not done by Wegman's own standards due to these problems. Our dept. has been through three managers in one year and only one was competent, friendly and a great leader. The boss above our boss who is supposed to care and help, often makes things worse because she frankly doesn't care because she is retiring soon. I've heard too many corrupt horror stories to count from other departments; everyone here is trying to transfer to a bigger, better store where many of our friends have gone. Human Resources only placates employees momentarily and talks very condescendingly towards them.
