Compliance Consultant (Legacy Wachovia)
Pros
The best reason to work at Wells Fargo is having a job! In an economy like this one, having a job here beats no job at all. Many career opportunities exist, and they are always hiring…..but only because the turn over rates are very high.
Cons
Wells is decentralized. There is tons of overlap, disorganization, shoddy business practices, and no one seems to care. If you bring any of it up to management, they will find a way to get rid of you and make your life miserable for as long as you are there. They call it a "low cost" business model, which is basically modern day slave labor…..over worked and underpaid employees w/ bare minimum benefits. Their technology is light years behind what Wachovia had….what Bank of America currently has, and they are satisfied with mediocrity…or less than that as long as they continue to make money. Having worked for a company that values their employees prior to this, I had never experienced working for a company that didn't care about their employees. They say, you never miss what you have until it is gone, and I have to agree.
