Pros

- Good Benefits - Company Culture in Ogden Area - Reasonable Pay - Great Company Ideals

Cons

- Sometimes the Company message gets lost as the Company's bonus structure leads to burnouts and pressure to do the wrong thing for the customer. - Widget pushers - People burn out quickly in other areas with other managers

Pros

Wells Fargo is a stable company and with room for advancement and opportunities for dedicated employees. The upper management from outside the local branch always seemed polite and respectful when they visited the branch.

Cons

I disliked the over emphasis placed on sales goals at Wells Fargo. I felt like Wells Fargo harbored an environment that encouraged employees to tell customers falsehoods or half-truths in attempts to up-sell the customer into accounts and products that were unnecessary and not fiscally beneficial to the customer. I had no problem being a "teller". I enjoyed the money handeling and helping customers with their problems, but that is not what Wells Fargo is interested in from a teller now days. They simply want someone that will sell their products to every customer. Often times the Assistant Manager will sit behind the teller line and watch your interaction with each customer. If you do not offer the products like the computer prompts you too, the manager will be pulling you aside to give you "tips" and "suggestions" on how to sell these 'products" to the customer. The manager at our branch always wanted us to pitch customers credit cards under the guise that using a credit card instead of using savings will help you to "save your money!" I mean why use your savings when you could just charge up your credit card and then pay the bank more if fees, yea!!! I couldn't stomach the high pressure sales environment that is the culture at Wells Fargo, so I left. Also, the pay is horrendous. I believe I could have made more money working at a fast food restaurant. They do a lot of contests and offer performance bonuses, but most employees never reach their preset goals so you end up not making enough in extra incentives to make up for the poor pay.
