Pros

The company has very good benefits, competitive compensation and stability. Many people choose to retire here. I was given regular promotions, though did find it hard to for to find the 'next step' when wanting to make a career jump to management. My first manager there was great, but when he left, my department went downhill. So, it really depends on the department/management whether you will have a good or bad experience.

Cons

I was in technology, but the main business is banking therefore, it was not so cutting edge for a technology professional. Due to this, the dot commers were making much more money, but we had the job stability which was a tradeoff. In addition, many times your employees were not the brightest or 'A' gamers. Mediocrity rules the roost there which is good because then it was relatively easy to be a star.

Pros

Out of three companies I worked in Financial services Industry Wells is the best. In my opinion, they treat their employees fairly in most departments. You feel that your efforts are recognized and valued. There are many opportunities to find your place and get new skills and career growth. Also they're pretty diverse company comparatively with other two I worked for. I would recommend it for my friends. It might be not an ideal company to work for the rest of your life but at least it's a good starting point.

Cons

I don't see many aspects that I would complain about. Just like any other big corporations it has some bureaucracy, I guess.

Pros

Wells offers more training than most banks, has a well articulated corporate values & mission statement. Wells also offers some good potential to move up if you are willing to move around.

Cons

Wells is very gimicky and slow to increase pay. They will promise a lot but steadily and consistently undermine the value of your pay package with "adjustments" to bonus programs. Wells also suffers from a huge amount of cronieism. Being a chear leader is much more important than results as everyone lines up to look their best by stroking each and every promotion or idea that comes through.
