Pros

Large company with seemingly endless opportunities for advancement and career growth. Even if you work in a smaller office or a city in which Wells does not have a large presence you could possibly relocate with the company or to move into a higher role across the huge nationwide footprint. Publicly traded company creates a competitive atmosphere in which Wells Fargo wants to pay for and retain top talent. A comprehensive benefit package with affordable costs to employees at all levels. Even in the wake of recent media coverage I personally have no doubts on the integrity or vision of the board, the CEO and executive leadership.

Cons

The office I am in is very understaffed. We have mandatory overtime which has been going on for years and working the long hours, early morning, late nights + traffic commuting is draining and eats up free time. I know they are trying to hire more but not a lot of qualified applicants for the specific work we do here. Not a con, but in spite of this I feel the pay here in our region is VERY competitive. Technology can be a problem. Wells has its own IT group developing most of the proprietary internal applications we use (which is mostly a good thing) however there can be pesky work-arounds for issues and new version rollouts are always a pain. It just requires more work for us front end employees when we are already overloaded.

Pros

none, nothing good to say about this bank

Cons

stupid, scumbag management that has learned nothing from this whole thing with the fraud. The lawsuit started in 2011 and they still pressure their employees, just not as bad. They still cross sell customers even as I write this. Everyday they have phone calls wanting to know what these bankers have sold for the day. They're crazy, blood sucking leeches and I hate working here. I can't wait to get out of here.

Pros

A lot of job opportunuities within the bank. The majority of team members are really nice and fun people to work with. We are allowed to focus on peoples strengths, good managers will spot a persons strengths and find ways to use them to help the team member be successful. The majority of people I work with take pride in what they do. We have a very diverse group of people from all walks of life. It is great to have such a variety, especially learning about differences. It makes work fun and exciting when you have a melting pot. Flexability - most postions allow you to work from home often. That is a huge blessing for those of us who have a long commute.

Cons

Our new senior leader in Wholesale stated in his last meeting we are to do what is in Wells Fargo's best interest. Our old leader ALWAYS promoted to do what is best for our customer. BAD Bad managers are all over. HR never does anything to change this, even when the manager has 2-3 people leaving each year. You think they would get a clue. Our benefits went from great to not so great and more momey out of pocket. There are a lot of people who dont do the "right thing" in fear of retaliation or fear of being the only one who stands up to do the right thing. We promote to hire within the company, word of nouth travels fast. I can apply for the same job as someone else and lack certain skills but if people know me they will go out of their way to hire me instead of a more qualified canidate. It is all about "who you know". Working for a micro manager is hell, so you literally MUST leave the team and everything you know and love becuase this person is ruining your life and work isnt fun any more (yes, this sound very bitter and it was years ago I had to leave a job I LOVED due to a realignment and new manager). HR is no help so don't bother. We had a manager IM'ing people inappropriate stuff, told HR. They never even asked to see print screens (more than one person). It was swept under the rug. So IMO HR is worthless and totally opening WF up for a lawsuit.
