Pros

stability, good base salary, thats it

Cons

No avenues for advancement in retail. they are shrinking their footprint all over. even though they will tell you that you'll be on a path to become a Financial Advisor, they only hire outside advisors. If you're contacted by a recruiter to joint the team, just know that they are lying to you about what you will be doing. I've worked for Wells for over 10 years as a Premier Banker, (was formally an RBPB). I now am forced to sit in an office all day and open teen accounts and call horrible leads. that is the only metric for success they judge you by. In the past, you were golden as long as you were closing business. Now, I can close 4 million a quarter, and still get told that i don't have enough outreach calls on CRV, so I'm not meeting my job expectations. I just watched them pull 2 people from another firm and promise them a whole list of things that they don't deliver on, don't be fooled. The company doesn't care about you.

Pros

Learned a ton about financial services Worked with talented people who really know their stuff Many long tenured staff - I was there more than 20 years Lots of diversity, at least at the lower levels Working with people around the country and even internationally Great 401k match Excellent PTO that grows the longer you stay

Cons

The bank has become cheap in every possible way Constantly told the bank hasn't been performing well, so raises are 0% or less than cost of living year-after-year Management doesn't seem to grasp the key issues Management doesn't provide the resources needed, and punishes you for not meeting targets when the resources aren't provided or removed without warning Management can't seem to pick a course and stick with it Culture is still allowing scandals to occur Diversity gets less and less at the higher ranks in the company 401k match only paid if you stay the entire year Bonuses have changed and shrunk
