Worst Bench Policy

Business Outlook

Pros

only the Bangalore Kodathi campus is good, Brand value.

Cons

Nothing pro, The worst bench policy is only 45 days we get salary after that LOP. In that 45 days all Sundays and saturday are calculated... so its only 30 days .. after that LOP .. also there are no projects to find .. many projects are ramping down and Wipro is not getting more projects ... mostly high-salary people even if they are in the project they are risky only .. if project budget issue comes they will remove from the project and go to the bench .. rotation policy sucks if we complete 18 months in the project we need to go to other project or else our salary will get impact .. they have WILP-Wipro integrated learning program where they hire BSc (degree) freshers and give 12 k as a stifund..mostly no projects for both high budget employees as well as low budget employees.. if we are in bench we are dead.. worst bench policy..please do not join for salary it will be good based on rojects budget purely ..even if you have excellent skill and if no budget in the project you will be in bench ... and if the project is having requirement also if they dont have budget they will not take you to project ... worst rules ....pathentic company.

Only hires Indians

Pros

Only if you originated from India, and not even from Sri Lanka, Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, then you are part of internal politics

Cons

Everything is a con. You have to remain loyal to wipro team. You can't include anyone from end client in most of the communications, but all the resource managers find ways to sneak into all the end client group communications. Nobody other than from India ever gets hired, unless there is an exceptional complete blockage of H1B and L1 visas by government. They would rather employee people from India who are already employed by them in India to come to US on their sponsored H1B visas than to hire people already in US with valid green card/citizenship. Whichever company/team wipro is present in, you will always find 3-5 resource managers always being present there, trying to run the politics. But with all this negative political culture, end clients always like to keep them happy. (This is no different from any Indian originated IT tech giant like Infosys, Mphasis, TCS etc) Their whole job is to rig the system of H1B visas for Indians. In 2022, 80% of H1B visas went to India. The percentage in 1997 was 39%. (I am pretty sure it was much lower before 1996) There is no way other countries stopped producing high tech people. It's just rigging by countless Indian companies like this one. The employees in H1B work for wipro (or other such companies) for several years for an end client, and eventually the end client hires these people after mandatory cool-off period. But with this systematic rigging to help indian origin succeed, virtually wipes off all the competition from people originated elsewhere.

I've watched so many...

Pros

Global Company with revenue in the billions. Generally up to date technology. Exceptionally well at deceit from the top. Payscale is average unless you are working for the same friend that got you your job.

Cons

Exceptionally well at deceiving from the top. Takes a lot to get hired, takes a single not so good quarter to be laid off or sold.. The people responsible for layoffs has never heard your name. They have a habit of laying off the top names in an Excel file sorted by salary, regardless of seniority, knowledge of their area of expertise, or how many hours above and beyond to keep things running smoothly within their group.
