Pros

If you like to work independently with little or no management oversight, then Xerox is the place for you. You manage yourself! They have a decent 401k plan and tuition reimbursement..

Cons

With the lack of managerial oversight comes a huge lack in communication. There is also no room for growth opportunities or promotions or raises. With that, you can expect to be doing the same job or jobs with similar duties for several years before making a change within the company or getting recognized for your hard work. A lot of people within the company don't seem to mind, but I do. Some people do mind, but are afraid of losing their jobs. Maybe that is why Xerox is great for them. Also, managers only seem to care about where to save a dollar as opposed to really grooming their associates to become better assets for the company. Positions are not created and there is no concrete method of training. It is all static with in the company. There is a lack of creativity and innovation in drumming up business. It doesn't help that Xerox can be one of the most expensive in the industry when dealing with site management and services.

Pros

Sales training, decent starting salary, independence and autonomy as a sales rep to make decisions on your own (before the commission split hits!). I also liked the diversity of employees. There are literally a million resources if you have questions or like continuous learning.

Cons

You may see others get preferential treatment. Management styles vary from micromanager to so lax there's no support. High pressure towards quarter end, which makes it transactional focused instead of relationship focused at times. Your territory may suck and management usually knows. It will be miserable if you don't sell.

Pros

Flexible work hours and decent salary.

Cons

You are always worried you will be the next to be layed off since layoffs occur an average of once per year.
