Pros

AOT has some of the best people that work there. You will be sure to make some lifelong friends along the way. A career at AOT will set you up nicely for whatever future sales track you want to take. It’s a great stepping stone for other types of sales positions or if you want to work your way up through the company you are able to do that too and be successful.

Cons

While AOT does a great job hiring most people they haven’t don’t the best with placing some of their Sales Managers. In the past, they have promoted people to Management who weren’t ready and would lead by fear and micro-management rather than by leadership and mentoring for their employees who were generally new to sales. That in turn has caused a lot of turn over in the past year. Copier Sales is also a very saturated market and there are some unrealistic expectations for the sales team.

Xerox Response

Thank you for your review! I'm glad you are seeing we have terrific people and believe there is a good carrier path and future. We prefer to promote from within when possible. I'm curious about your comment about Sales Management and would welcome more open face-to-face conversation about this. We certainly don't endorse leading by fear and will make corrections if it is happening. Employees who have left in the past year have gone out of their way to say very positive things about their sales managers in their exit interviews. That doesn't mean there isn't a problem, it's just confusing. With regards to the competitive market we work in, yes it is very competitive out there, but Arizona still has a lot of opportunity and is growing. Every day we run into companies that are unhappy with one of our competitors. We work hard to hire and train the best possible employees to uncover opportunities and show potential customers why AOT is the best company to choose.

Pros

Xerox is in a state of flux and there are incredible opportunities for young talent to cut their teeth on serious international work. They are clearly invested in retaining young employees and creating positions that offer flex scheduling and great pay.

Cons

Benefits are not great.

Pros

Company Car-Sales, 401K plan, outstanding peer employees.

Cons

Upper management is completely disconnected from the field. Ex: Annual employee survey conducted by 3rd party organization, to help identify +/- of the organization. Survey stated that all comments will be released verbatim. Survey never completely released to employees, no comments shared. I guess they didn't want to hear the truth. VP along with her minions, bullied employees daily. Those same comments were included in the survey. The bullying continues daily. Xerox promotes mediocrity, as those same managers are being promoted. Sales compensation plans are changed annually. Not sure of any other companies where your budget is doubled, but your earning are cut in half.
