Pros

MOS has a national brand to work with in Xerox. Colleagues are generally nice. If you are young and want to start in sales you can go here to cut your teeth for a year or two max and get to a company that actually cares about your future.

Cons

easily the worst experience I ever had in an employer while in sales. Why? Let me count the ways. First, management style is straight out of 1994. What does that mean? It means a phone and a phone book. There were literally no tools to speak of to help like a CRM, a premium LI account, or demand generation tools. This company is built on legacy accounts and it is my opinion that senior mgt doesn't care about new employees. They hire sales ppl without planning long term. I felt they really didn't care if someone succeeded or not. Not once did anyone ask me how it was going or if I had the tools to succeed. If you struggle - it's all on you - as it can never be senior sales leadership. They are too brilliant. That's what I found here. They try to gloss over these really bad glassdoor reviews with facebook pictures of happy reps and I feel I owe it to unsuspecting Michigan candidates to tell my experiences. This place was a personal and professional black hole because of the non-caring senior sales management. if you have no other choice to put food on your table go ahead and take the job - but consider yourself warned.

Xerox Response

First of all thank you for your candid review. We appreciate your honesty and feedback. Some of your feedback was surprising and a bit disappointing. So we did some “fact-checking” just so review readers would get the right information. We provide multiple tools and resources that support our sales people. While we acknowledge our CRM system is a bit outdated, we are in the process of a full conversion to a new system that will assist our reps in multiple ways to be more successful. As for other tools, we offer our employees multiple opportunities to learn and develop their business and sales skills. These programs include the MOS Leadership Development Program, 5 Week Sales Training Program, Personal Development Programs and ongoing mentoring and team trainings. We truly believe that we are all in this together. As we celebrate 60 years of being in business in Michigan, we are proud of our customers who we have partnered with over the years. Not only are we proud but we continually welcome new customers and employees on a regular basis which fuels the growth of MOS. Through these partnerships we are able to work with nonprofit organizations to be a strong corporate citizen and give back to the communities in which we serve. We love to share the opportunities of our employees giving back to our communities by providing every employee paid time off for volunteer activities. We also take part in Wellness programs and activities to lead a healthier lifestyle. This all a part of the MOS culture. Sometimes, at MOS we can get ahead of ourselves. We thank you for the reminder that our employees and customers ALWAYS come first. This company has incredible opportunity! Let’s chat so we can show you how!

Pros

Some great people that were working there before the current leadership took ever. Plenty of warehouse space and nice shelving.

Cons

The leadership team has no morals or ethics and only looks out for their own paycheck. The micro manage their employees. They don't listen to their employees. They try to sue everyone who leaves after they do unethical things to them.

Pros

I have been working at a customer service call center near Portland for the past 9 months. The location is an easy commute. The work is a guaranteed 40 work week with benefits and overtime is available. The employees and supervisors do what they can to make a pleasant work environment. Training is adequate and there is a lot of support.

Cons

There isn't much hope of a career path here. The shift bidding system could work well if it wasn't corrupted. Being able to schedule earned personal time off weeks in advance has proven problematic. Work-life balance is heavily skewed toward work. An example: Despite numerous conversations and emails with various people and a perfect attendance record, I was unable to secure proper approval for eligible time off and was told I would have to call in as a "no show" for which the attendance system would penalize doubly because it fell on a weekend. Since the shift bids are based on attendance, the next bid will be penalized as well.
